In January-September 2019, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SP SPb) allocated RUB 36 million for implementation of its social programme with more than a half of it, RUB 20 million, paid to the personnel under the collective agreement aimed to support welfare of port employees and their families and guaranteeing certain social benefits for them.
SP SPb has been traditionally allocating resources for its personnel healthcare: it covers expenses for medical services, health-resort treatment, visits to fitness centers.
For years, the port has been successfully involved in sport popularization projects. In 2019, the company held a number of corporate sport events and arranged participation of its football team in several competitions for the industry representatives.
Separate financial support was provided by the company to employees in hard life situations. SP SPb runs a special fund for such purposes.
Responsibility for the younger generation is among the priorities of SP SPb’s social policy. Financial support is provided to employees with multi-child families and unwed mothers employed by the port. Targeted support is foreseen for parents of first-graders. The company covers expenses for family recreation activities, summer holidays of employees’ children, organizes regular tours and corporate activities for employees’ families.
The company provides support to sport shooting club “Olimpiyets” offering free of charge training of Olympic shooting. Young sportsmen of Saint-Petersburg offered the services of professional coaches and modern equipment regularly obtain athletic titles and categories and hit the podiums of federal and international competitions.
The company runs a permanent programme of support to the veterans of the port. Employees granted with “Veteran of the Port” title, active members of the port’s veterans organization and those celebrating anniversaries are given quarter bonuses and financial presents to mark significant state and professional holidays.
Special attention have always been paid by SP SPb to its personnel education. Over 9 months of the year, 400 employees (up 15%, year-on-year) mastered new equipment, studied occupational safety and fire rules.
Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC is the largest operator rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes at Big Port St. Petersburg. It operates modern multipurpose specialized terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes and specialized terminals for ro-ro cargoes and containers. In 2018, the company handled 7.7 million tonnes of cargo.
