Allseas has successfully completed its offshore pipelay commitments for the 700-kilometer Southeast Gateway pipeline project in southeast Mexico for client TC Energy, according to the company's release.
Leveraging its state-of-the-art pipelay vessels, Solitaire, Lorelay, and Tog Mor, and dedicated onshore and offshore teams, Allseas completed the pipeline installation in just 11 months, including the complex nearshore scope and pre-commissioning.
Pioneering Spirit installed the outstanding nearshore section at Coatzacoalcos, without a stinger. Instead, the hanging stinger transition frame served as a ‘mini’ stinger, a solution tailored to the shallow water depth.
This project provided an opportunity to advance the validation of Allseas' Automated Ultrasonic Testing system, Dolphin, which inspected over 57,000 welds. Dolphin's efficient inspection cycles set a new standard for pipeline girth weld inspection.
The Southeast Gateway Pipeline, a strategic collaboration between TC Energy and Mexico's state utility CFE, will play a vital role in delivering reliable and affordable energy to Mexico's growing southeast region. This project builds upon Allseas' successful installation of the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan pipeline in 2017, further solidifying its presence in the Mexican market.
