Throughput of the port of Klaipeda up 13.6% in Jan-May, 07, y-o-y

In January-May 2007, throughput of the port of Klaipeda totaled 10.86 million tonnes (+13.6%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. The highest growth was demonstrated in loading of frozen goods (+46.8%), loose fertilizers (+44.5%), in handling of containers (+40.1%) and ro-ro goods (+17.8%). Turnover of oil products grew by 11% to 3 million tonnes, liquid fertilizers  - by 29%. In May the port handled 2.29 million tonnes of cargo, which is a record throughout recent years.
