Off-harbor transshipment of heavy fuel oil by In-Transit CJSC
Off-harbor transshipment of heavy fuel oil by In-Transit CJSC (Saint Petersburg) amounted in May-September 2006 to 1 219 thou tons against 1 330 thou tons through similar period of the previous year. This information has been provided to PortNews’ reporter by Valery Eliseev, Director General of In-Transit CJSC. According to him, in October the company plans to transship 300 thou tons of heavy fuel oil. In 2005 through the whole summer navigation period, In-Transit exported 1 637 thou tons of oil products. Eliseev added that off-harbor transshipment is to stop by November 5 in the port of Saint Petersburg.
In-Transit CJSC is a stevedoring company operating at the Big Port of Saint Petersburg. The company has three outer anchorage sites for its storage tankers in the port of Saint Petersburg (anchorage 5А off Kronshtadt). This year the company has placed two storage tankers with a capacity of about 100 thou tons each. Heavy fuel oil is taken to the outer anchorage by Vision Fleet and by a number of minor river tanker companies – members of Tanker Union from Rosneft refinery – Samara group, Syzran refinery and Nizhnekamsk refinery of Tatneft.
