September 2006 World aluminum production
World aluminum production totaled 24.493 million tons in January-September 2006 (+5.8% against year-on-year result - 23.14 million tons), the International Aluminium Institute reports according to AK&M. North America decreased its primary aluminum production over the reported period by 0.35% to 3.984 million tons (after 3.998 million tons), West Europe – by 4.6% to 3.118 (after 3.267 million tons. Production in East and Central Europe grew by 0.9% to 3.162 million tons (after 3.134 million tons), Asia states – by 12.7% to 2.582 million tons (after 2.292 million tons, Latin America – by 4.9% to 1.863 million tons (after 1.776 million tons, Africa – by 7.6% to 1.392 million tons (after 1.294 million tons). Aluminum production in Oceania totaled 1.693 million tons against 1.683 million tons in January-September 2005. China production totaled 6.699 million tons (+17.6% against year-on-year result of 5.696 million tons).
