In January-August 2008, throughput of Ukraine’s stevedoring companies totaled 105.32 million tonnes(+12.4 million tonnes, or +13.5%, year-on-year), Ukraine’s State Statistics Committee reports according to RZD-Partner.
The Committee attributes the growth to increase of transit (+11.8 million tonnes, or +33.7%) to 46.9 million tonnes. Export fell by 5.9% to 43.6 million tonnes, import grew by 18.8% to 10.9 million tonnes.
