Gazprom's gas output declines 1.3% to 548.5 bln cu m in 2007
Russian energy giant Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] said on Tuesday its total gas production for 2007 declined 1.3% year on year to 548.5 billion cubic meters, RIA Novosti reports.
Gazprom officials earlier said this volume was closely linked to gas consumption.
"In 2006 Gazprom produced 556 billion cubic meters, which implies that demand for gas was higher last year," the deputy chairman of the Gazprom management committee, Alexander Ananenkov, earlier said, attributing lower gas consumption in 2007 to the mild weather.
At the same time, Gazprom's reserves rose by an estimated 585 billion cubic meters or 7 billion cubic meters above the target in 2007.
