Transneft and Sovcomflot sign agreement on cooperation

On January 22, 2008, Transneft OJSC and Sovcomflot OJSC signed an agreement on cooperation, press center of Sovcomflot  reports. The document was signed by Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev and Director General of Sovcomflot Sergei Frank. The cooperation is a strategic interest of the two companies including export of Russian hydrocarbons via the Leningrad region (BPS-2, Ust-Luga, Sever), Primorski region (ESPO), Krasnodar region (Novorossiysk-Burgas-Alexandropulis).

 

The cooperation envisions joint development of the most efficient and safe logistics schemes for liquid hydrocarbons, joint work in construction and operation of oil terminals as well as modernization and re-equipment of handling complexes of the RF ports.

According to Sergei Frank “Joint efforts of Transneft OJSC as the largest Russian operator of pipelines for transportation of hydrocarbons and Sovcomflot OJSC as the largest Russia shipping company specializing in transportation of hydrocarbons will make it possible to raise the efficiency and general safety of hydrocarbons transportation.
