Russian shipyards’ H1 output down 15.1%

The half-year production volume of major Russia’s shipbuilding companies declined by 15,1%, the Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade statistics said.

The Ministry report said the negative trend is primarily associated with reduced production at the Vyborg Shipyard, Baltic Shipyard, Proletarian Factory, Dalzavod JSC, Shipbuilding Center Zvezdochka (versus more than 2.3 times surge in H1, 2009). At the same time, there was an output gain at Sevmashpredpriyatiye JSC, Shipbuilding plants of Krasniye Barrikady (Red Barricades), Okskaya Shipyard JSC, Admiralty Shipyards JSC, Krasnoye Sormovo Plant, Yaroslavl Shipyard, the Ministry said.

In January-June 176 Shipyard (a Zvezdochka’s branch) delivered to its customer a self-propelled barge, 5th Shipyard – a tugboat (after repair), October Revolution Shipyard - a small fishing trawler. Admiralty Shipyards handed over to its customer an Ice-class tanker and has been completing the construction of another tanker, as well as building a research vessel for Hydromet.

In the reporting period Krasnoye Sormovo has built the 19619 project tanker for Kazakhstan, Panama took delivery of the 19614 tanker, with two more ships being constructed; Okskaya Shipyard delivered to a foreign customer, two tankers and is building another 6600DWT tanker (00216 project).
