Rolls-Royce gets £24 million PSV order
Brazilian ship owner Bravante Group has chosen Rolls-Royce to design and equip four platform supply vessels (PSVs) for £24 million ($38.6 million).
The UT 775 SE PSVs will be chartered by Petrobras and used to carry deck cargo, pipes, and diesel oil to and from offshore oil and gas platforms off the Brazilian coast.
Bravante will build them at its Niteroi, Brazil shipyard.
"This is an important contract to Rolls-Royce that consolidates our strong support of the growth in Brazil's offshore oil and gas industry," said Anders Almestad, Rolls-Royce, President-Offshore.
"Our bespoke integrated power and propulsion systems are optimised for each individual ship's intended operational environment."
Rolls-Royce will supply equipment including Azipull and bow thrusters, deck machinery, a bulk handling system, Active Front End (AFE) frequency converters, automation and control systems, and a dynamic positioning system.
Branvante now has eight Rolls-Royce vessels under construction and delivered another, Mar Limpo II, to Petrobras in August.
Rolls-Royce received a contract for another PSV for use in India in August.
