OOCL to charge for potential US port congestion
Hong Kong-based box carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) will impose a port congestion surcharge (PCS) for shipments moving to or from the US on December 29, due to potential labour unrest, reported SeeNews Shipping.
The fee will be US$800 per TEU, $1,000 per FEU, $1,125 per FEU high cube and $1,265 per 45-foot container.
In case no labour unrest occurs following the effective date, OOCL will not impose the surcharge.
