Construction of the main facilities for the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok trunk gas pipeline in Primorye may begin in the first half of 2009, the territorial administration said according to Interfax.
Surveying work is nearly completed. The design is now being completed and agreed with regulators.
All the operations are in line with the first phase plan approved by Gazprom (RTS: GAZP).
Development of the general scheme for gas supplies and the gasification of Primorye are proceeding in parallel. To date 34 municipalities have completed schemes for the gasification of their districts.
The Gazprom-Promgaz design institute plans to complete the general scheme in the second quarter of 2009.
The gasification of Primorye is slated for completion in 2011. The gasification project encompasses oil and gas production in Primorye, use of gas at major and small power stations and gas service for household consumers.
