    Idle container fleet now at 800,000 TEU around the world

    According to AXS-Alphaliner the idle fleet of container ships around the world now reach 800,000 TEU, covering 6.5 per cent of the cellular fleet. The figures are the highest recorded in the containership history, and still increasing. The number of idle ships are 303; of them nine vessels between 7,500-10,000 TEU are lying idle, while 34 units between 5,000-7,500 TEU are lying idle. Eleven months ago the idle fleet reached 675,000 teu.
