RZD reduces cargo transportation by 33% in Jan 09

Russian Railways (RTS: RZHD) (RZhD) reduced cargo transportation by 33% in January 2009 compared to the same period last  year,  the  company  said in the wake of a video conference chaired by RZD President Vladimir Yakunin on Wednesday.

The carrier did  not  site  absolute figures. Last December cargo transportation fell by 26% compared to December 2007, the company said.
