Dragon LNG -- a joint venture between BG (50 percent), Malaysia's Petronas PETR.UL (30 pct) and the Netherlands' 4Gas (20 pct) -- and the nearby South Hook import terminal had originally been scheduled to open before this winter.
But both facilities aimed largely at keeping Britain well supplied with heating fuel during peak winter demand are not ready to take deliveries. "We are in the final stages of completion and we are expecting it to be onstream in the second quarter of this year," a BG spokesman said.
The developers of South Hook -- a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and France's Total -- expect to complete commissioning of the terminal near Milford Haven this month.
