Trade flows passing through the Port of Murmansk in January-October 2012 shrank by 13.2% year-on-year, to 18.99 million tons, the Association of Commercial Sea Ports reports.
Port of Murmansk is located on the Kola Peninsula on the coast of the Barents Sea and is the world's largest port, located above the Arctic Circle. Murmansk is the most northerly ice-free ports of Russia and is projected to become a key port for cargo transportation through the Northern Sea Route.
