Moravske naftove doly to produce bunker fuel in port Primorsk

Joint stock company Moravske naftove doly (Owned by MND Group, Czech Republic), filed an application for construction of a refinery at the territory of Primorsk port. The refinery is to specialize in production of bunker fuel to supply the vessels in the port of Primorsk and Vysotsk, Vice-Governor of the Leningrad region Grigory Dvas told the press conference on Thursday, Rosbalt reports. The Vice-Governor reminded that most permissive documents for refinery construction have been approved by former investor so Moravske naftove doly is a legal successor of this project.

In late 2008, Jasmine LLC announced its plans to build a complex of refineries in Primorsk.

Grigory Dvas said there will be two different refineries. The refinery planned by Jasmine will focus on export products. The Vice-Governor also noted the Leningrad region is short of refineries.

Moravské naftové doly is the biggest oil and gas company in the Czech Republic.

Commercial seaport Primorsk was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberian oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. Primorsk is the largest port in the North-West region of Russia to export crude and oil products. In 2008, 75.58 million tonnes of oil cargo was exported via the port of Primorsk.
