Vladivostok Container Terminal beefs up with new Liebherr cranes

Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) has put into service on its Berth No 53 a new gantry crane manufactured by Liebherr, the Sakhalin Shipping Company’s (SASCO) press release said.

The crane of maximum lifting capacity of 124 tons was purchased by SASCO to handle cargo at VCT’s Berth No 53 from vessels servicing import / export lines, including ships, operating on SASCO China Line (SCL).

Another Liebherr gantry crane of lifting capacity of 63 mt, was commissioned at Berth No 50 acquired by Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port for handling the SASCO vessels, operating on the short sea lines Vladivostok-Korsakov, Vladivostok-Magadan and Vladivostok-Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

"Commissioning of these cranes will increase the rate of loading / unloading of SASCO ships at the two berths, fast transshipment and shipping of containers on all SASCO’s shipping lines," the Company’s report said.
