Vitino port handles 425,900 tonnes of oil products in Jan 09
In January 2009, Vitino port (Archangelsk region) handled 425,900 tonnes of oil products, PortNews IAA learnt from Administration of Archangelsk Sea Port.
The seaport Vitino is a private port located in the Archangelsk region It was created as a result of a project on construction of a new port terminal complex to provide services for large-capacity tankers while employing the capacities of the White Sea Oil Centre (Belomorskaja Neftebaza), located on the southwest coast of the Kandalaksha Gulf of the White Sea. The project was financed from non-budgetary sources.
The port specializes in storage and transshipment of such petroleum as black oil (May - October) and gas condensate (stabilized). Vitino has links with the central part of Russia as well as with the Black, Caspian, Azov and Baltic Seas by both external and internal waterways.
