Hamburg-headquartered Hoyer, a liquid and hazardous goods logistics provider took over the bulk liquid logistics division of the Dutch company De Rijke, Hoyer said on Wednesday.
The portfolio of De Rijke fit perfectly into the company's strategy, Günter Friedrich Maas, Head of Business Unit Chemilog said, adding "We are gaining market share, especially in the relations to and from the UK, Scandinavia and Italy." One of the advantages is the strong intermodal orientation of De Rijke: the bulk liquid division of De Rijke generates over 75 percent of their revenues in intermodal transport. Hoyer is set to expand this business further.
Hoyer will save jobs for all 240 employees of De Rijke in Europe: Gothenburg, Sweden, Preston Brook in Britain, Moerdijk in the Netherlands, Le Havre in France and Piacenza in Italy. There are also about 1,500 tank containers, 130 tractors and 300 tank trailers and chassis.
