RAK Investment Authority to build modern container terminal in Poti seaport
RAK Investment Authority, the Company-owner of Poti Seaport Corporation, plans to construct over the next three years a container terminal up to modern standards, the Black Sea Press reported.
The new container terminal will occupy the 100-hectare area near the port. The construction of the terminal is to allow a 25 percent increase in container traffic.
To cope with the increase in traffic while the terminal is under construction, RAK Investment Authority will remodel the 14th moorage at the port as a container terminal. The remodelling will come at a cost of US$14.2 million.
