Shandong ports 2008 throughput up 14.3pc
Ports in Shandong province, northeast China, registered a 14.3 per cent growth in throughput to hit 650 million tons in 2008, reports Xinhua.
The three largest provincial ports Qingdao, Rizhao, Yantai (including Longkou port) handled 563 million tons of cargo, accounting for 85.6 per cent of the total. Qingdao port 's volume grew 13.3 per cent to 300 million tons, while Rizhao port moved 151 million tons with a 15.6 per cent increase and Yantai handled 112 million tons, up 10.5 per cent.
