Copenhagen Malmo Port reports a EUR 16.6 million pre-tax profit for 2008
Copenhagen Malmö Port (CMP) reports a SEK 181 million (EUR 16.6 million) pre-tax profit for 2008, up by 24 percent compared with 2007. The result is the best since the company was established in 2001, despite the global financial crisis under the second half of 2008.
CMP foresees a negative impact from the downturn in world economy in 2009, but expects a turnover on last year’s level. An increase is expected for the business area Cruise in 2009. 330 cruise calls are announced for this year’s season, ten per cent more than in 2008.
At the AGM in april, MD Lars Karlsson will resign, to be replaced by Johan Röstin from the logistic company Schenker AB.
