Throughput of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port up 17% to 7 mln t in Jan 09

In January 2009, Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port handled 7.043.6 million tonnes of cargo (+17.1%, year-on-year), the company states.

In the reported period, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 26.6% to 5.244.7 million tonnes including 1.188.7 million tonnes of oil products (+55.3%). Transshipment of dry bulk totaled 873,000 tonnes (+24.4%) including 253,100 tonnes of ore and iron-ore concentrate (up 12 times, 436,600 tonnes of grain (+5.4%), 3,800 tonnes of cement (-60.9%), 49,900 tonnes of sugar (-55.8%).

In January transshipment of general cargo fell by 9.1% to 786,200 tonnes including 589,900 tonnes of ferrous metal (-10%), 56,800 tonnes of timber (-27.1%), 78,300 tonnes of cement (-13.6%), 30,100 tonnes of cast iron (up 2.9 times). The port’s container throughput reduced by 9.5% to 19,700 TEU.
