Maersk upgrades intra-Asia service
Maersk Line announced plans to upgrade its IA-4 intra-Asia service connecting China and Southeast Asia, effective later this month.
In a trade advisory, the carrier said the weekly service will now call Keelung, Taiwan, offering a revised port rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Keelung, Shekou, Port Kelang, Singapore, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.
The world's largest container carrier said the upgraded service will help provide direct coverage for the trade moving from Keelung to Port Kelang, Singapore and Jakarta, in addition to offering faster transit times on the route.
The first vessel to enter the new rotation will be the Westertal, expected to call Keelung Feb. 25.
