Dry cargo vessel designed in Odesa commissioned in Kherson

Kherson Shipyard commissioned dry cargo vessel Kaya Pioneer, designed by Odesa Marine Engineering Bureau, Context-Prichernomorie correspondent reports.

The press-service of Odesa Marine Engineering Bureau informed the agency about it toady, 26 February, 2009.

According to the press-service, this vessel is a one-deck, one-propeller dry-cargo having 4 cargo holds, bulb bow, double bottom, double boards, forecastle, stern machinery and accommodation. The ship is supposed to carry general, bulk, grain and large-size cargo, and dangerous cargoes. Her self-sufficiency is 30 days. The crew – 16 people.

INFORMATION: OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” was registered on March, 23rd, 1995 in Odesa, Ukraine. It was founded by a group of scientists of the Shipbuilding Department, Odesa National Maritime University.

OJSC “Marine Engineering Bureau” works out pre-contract classification projects, projects of “conversion”, upgrade and renewal of sea vessels for internal and mixed journeys. They also prepare projects for increasing carrying and container capacities of ships and other related work.
