G6 Alliance not reinstating 6th Asia - Europe loop

The G6 Alliance will not reinstating its sixth Asia – Europe loop suspended in October last year, Seatrade Asia online reports.

The alliance comprising APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui OSK Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line, said it would continue with its five loop structure on the Asia – Europe trade. “We anticipate the current supply and demand balance will continue and we will not be reinstating the Loop 3 Asia-Europe service,” members of the Alliance said in a joint statement.
