Wärtsilä Corporation said today it has appointed Mr Philip Maguire Vice President, Wärtsilä Quality effective February 1, 2013, succeeding Mr Osmo Härkönen who will retire at the end of January 2013, Ship & Bunker reports.
According to the press release, Maguire will be responsible for Wärtsilä's group-wide quality programme and the quality organisation.
He will be a member of the Wärtsilä PowerTech management team and report to Lars Hellberg, President, Wärtsilä PowerTech.
Maguire, who has prior experience which includes engine systems development, vehicle programmes, and business line management for the Ford Motor Company, joins the Finnish corporation from Tetra Pak where he was also Vice President, Quality.
