Klaipedos nafta cuts oil product transshipment by 18.6% to 2.4 mln t in Jan-Apr 09

In January-April 2009, Lithuanian oil terminal Klaipedos nafta decreased transshipment of oil products by 18.6%, year-on-year, to 2.387 million tonnes, the company states.

In the reported period, earnings of Klaipedos nafta fell by 15.3% to LTL 36.1 mln.

Joint Stock Company Klaipedos Nafta was founded in 1994. Reconstruction of the oil Terminal started in 1995 with demolition of the old facilities and construction of a new object. The reconstruction was completed on March 28, 2002. The terminal transships crude oil and oil products (heavy fuel oil, crude oil, diesel oil, gasoline, jet fuel, etc.) from railway cars to tankers, unloads crude oil and oil products from tankers into railway cars, temporary stores (accumulates) crude oil and oil products, determines quality parameters of oil products, Injects chemical additives into oil products, accepts oily water from ships, provides ships with fuel and water, moors tankers. The state owns 70.6% of Klaipedos nafta shares. In 2008, Klaipedos nafta increased transshipment 1.5 times, year-on-year, to 8.213 million tonnes while its earnings climbed by 52.3% to LTL 119.4 mln.
