In 2008, net profit of Volgo-Don Shipping Company OJSC (Rostov-on-Don, part of Azov-and-Don Shipping Company) under Russian Accounting Standard fell by 24.6%, year-on-year, to RUR 5.668 mln, the company states.
Sales revenue increased by 7.4% to RUR 91.122 mln. The company attributes the decrease of net profit to the fall of transportation volumes amid economic crisis, Interfax reports.
Volgo-Don Shipping Company OJSC carries out international transportation from the ports of Russia, states of Azov, Black, Mediterranean, Caspian and North Seas. The company’s fleet consists of dry cargo carriers with total capacity of some 86,000 tonnes.
