The vessel of the new series is a continuation of project 005RST01 known as Armada earlier designed by for Palmali by Marine Engineering Bureau and built at ADA and SELAH shipyards in Tuzla (turkey) in 2002-2006.
10 Armada tankers are being operated at sea-and-river transportation of crude, heavy fuel oil, diesel fuel, other oil products and vegetable oil as well as at sea transportation in the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas including routes around Europe and in the Irish Sea in winter, the company notes.
The vessel’s dimensions meet the requirements of Volgo-Don and Volgo-Baltic waterways. The length of project RST22 vessels is 139.95 m, breadth – 16.6 m, depth – 6.0 m. The vessels’ class is Volgo-Don Max.
Deadweight of the vessels of the new series exceeds that of the previous one by 650 tonnes. Higher capacity of the tanks does not change vessels’ possibilities in rivers.
The capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8,090 cubic meters, deadweight in sea – some 7,050 tonnes (with the draft of 4.60 m), in river (with draft of 3.60 m) – some 4,700 tonnes, speed in operation – 10.5 knots.
The vessel meets the requirements of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping class KM Ice 2 R1 AUT1 COMBO oil tanker/chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP) ECO DESING.
The Vilesh River was laid down on April 26, 2007, launched on January 6, 2009.
All in all the series will consist of ten vessels. The majority of RST22 vessels will bear the names of Azeri rivers - Kura, Vilesh, Samur, Aras.
