In January-April 2009, throughput of Vanno port (Primorski Territory) fell by 16.1%, year-on-year, to 1.874 million tonnes of cargo including 588,300 tonnes of cargo handled in April (+9.9%, year-on-year, the company reports).
In January-April 2009, transshipment of export cargo totaled 939,200 tonnes (-13.7%, year-on-year), import – 405,000 tonnes (-10.5%), coastal trade cargo (excluding ferries) - 116,100 tonnes (+1.2%). Transshipment of cargo by Vanino-Kholmsk ferry service totaled 413,800 tonnes (-28.3%).
In April transshipment of export non-ferrous metal increased by 63.8% to 115,300 tonnes, coal – by 75.9% to 99,200 tonnes, wood and saw timber – by 0.8% to 128,900 tonnes, import alumina – by 76% to 102,800 tonnes.
In the 4-month period the port handled 23,176 wagons and 413 vessels including 184 ferries.
In April the port’s container throughput amounted to 2,641 TEU, in January-April 2009 - 8,363 TEU.
Vanino Commercial Seaport OJSC is the largest stevedoring company of Khabarovsk. It provides handling and forwarding services. Cargo is delivered via Vanino to the north-eastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of APR region.
The length of the port’s berthing line is about 2.5 kilometers. The port’s infrastructure comprises 16 berths, open and covered warehousing facilities, specialized handling equipment. The port is capable of handling vessels with deadweight of up to 45,000 tonnes.
