PRISCO net profit up 14% to RUR 99.4 mln in Q1 09

In the first quarter of 2009, net profit of Primorsk Shipping Corporation (PRISCO OJSC) increased by 14.3% to RUR 99.359 mln, the company states.

In the reported period, PRISCO earnings fell 3.8 times, year-on-year, to RUR 35.27 mln. 

The company partially attributes the growth to the sale of vessels. In 2008, PRISCO sold 5 tankers: Svobodny, Igrim, Partizansk, Angarsk and Kapitan Ershov.

JSC Primorsk Shipping Corporation specializes in marine transportation of bulk liquid cargoes.

The Corporation operates 19 tankers with their aggregate deadweight exceeding 1.350 million tons. Ice class vessels including large-capacity ones equipped for operation in freezing seas conditions make up the core of the сompany’s fleet. The Primorsk Shipping Corporation’s activities include commercial and technical management, agency services and training qualified specialists in sea transport and gas-and-oil producing industry.

The company’s authorized capital totals RUR 796.392 mln divided into 796.392 mln ordinary shares with nominal value of RUR 1 each. Aleksandr Kirilichev, Chairman of PRISCO BOD, controls some 75% of the company’s shares.
