300,000-t grain terminal is put into operation in Georgian port Poti

New grain terminal capable of handling some 300,000 tonnes o grain per year is put into operation in port Poti(Georgia). Poti Grain Terminal can handle 4,000 tonnes of grain per day, APK-Inform refers to press center of Unigrain Group.

Storage capacity of the terminal is 12,000 tonnes of grain. The terminal is focused on handling import agricultural goods to Transcaucasia as well as transit cargo from Kazakhstan. The terminal operates from May 20, 2009.
 
Investor and owner of the terminal is Unigrain Georgian Group, part of Unigrain Group. Initial investments totaled $5 mln.

Unigrain Group operates at the market of grain and oil crop from Autumn 2005 and comprises subsidiaries registered in UK, Ukraine and Georgia. Turnover of Unigrain Group reached almost $82 mln in 2008 (some 170,000 tonnes of grain and oil crops as well as soy oil meal).
