Ports and airports which were built from the Budget to be exempt from property tax

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation plans to exempt those transport infrastructure units which were constructed from the Federal Budget from property tax, announced Sergey Shatalov, the State-Secretary and Vice-Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation. 

"First of all, it is in respect of ports and airports," he said. "For example, if a runway or a mooring was constructed using federal means, these sites will be freed from property tax," explained the Vice-Minister. 

He said that such a proposal was included in the final draft of The Main Directions of Tax Policy- 2010 to 2012, which is to be considered at the Session of the Government Presidium on May 25, Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner. 

S.Shatalov has noted that it was proposed to apply such an exemptions from taxes for a period of 10 to 15 years. This privilege was offered by the Transport Ministry, he said.
