Maersk revises East Med and west coast South America

Maersk Line has announced revisions to its relay loops on the west coast of South America and on east Mediterranean feeder loops with half a dozen more modifications expected.
Its WCSA relay loop will connect the hub of Balboa to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile with ports and ships shuffling, but with coverage remaining the same.
Following the launch with CMA CGM of its new AE-3/BEX service which deploys 6,500-TEU vessels, it will revise its East Med feeder loops with a focus on its current 'Sfax' feeder service.
Sfax connects Libya and Tunisia will now stop at Port Said instead of Gioia Tauro while Iraklion in Crete will be served through Port Said which will create shorter transit times from Asia. The North-Europe Turkey ScanMed service will add Piraeus to its port call also.
