The signatures on the Memorandum confirm the two companies’ endeavors to boost the share of international rail transport in the overall volume of freight shipments between Russia and Finland.
The Memorandum stipulates that the companies will exchange proposals on participation in the Belyy Rast multimodal logistics terminal in Moscow Region by 1 September 2009.
The agreement also envisages a joint study with the relevant Russian and Finnish authorities of ways to develop information technologies and improve collaboration between the railways and government regulators, including the early introduction of an electronic customs clearance system.
A temporary working group will be appointed to implement the Memorandum.
