Sovcomflot schedules its first voyage to Prirazlomnaya platform for mid December
Sovcomflot OJSC plans to perform its first voyage to Prirazlomnaya platform in the Pechora Sea, IAA PortNews journalist cites Igor Tonkovidov, Deputy Director General of Sovcomflot as saying at III International Conference “Marine Insurance in Russia 2013”, which opened in Moscow on November 21.
According to him, the first approach to Prirazlomnaya platform with Gazprom Neft to ship the first batch of crude is scheduled for the middle of December.
Tonkovidov says the voyage will be performed by Sovcomflot’s 70,000-dwt tanker Mikhail Ulyanov.
The Prirazlomnoye field was discovered in 1989. It is located on the Pechora Sea shelf 60 kilometers off the shore (Varandey settlement) at the water depth of 19 to 20 meters. The Prirazlomnoye field contains 72 million tonnes of oil reserves (46.4 mln t of recoverable reserves) enabling to achieve the annual production level of 8 million tonnes.
Built by Sevmash Production Association, the Prirazlomnaya offshore ice-resistant oil-producing platform is a key pre-development facility. The platform will ensure well drilling, oil production, storage and offloading. The main features are its resistance to strong ice loads, long self-sustainability and year-round operability. 40 slanted wells will be drilled from it. The Prirazlomnaya platform is designed to receive oil from other fields as well. A single platform will enable to involve adjacent fields into efficient development and to reduce infrastructure-associated costs.
In August 2011, the Prirazlomnaya was placed on the shelf of the Pechora Sea some 55 km from Varandey settlement.
