Between 31 January and 20 March of the year the Vasily Golovin has moved more than 8,000 tonnes of cargo, including the removal of wastes generated at the stations. The ship has fulfilled its two-year plan for garbage disposal as the job was not done since 2013.

During the navigation period, the Russian vessel has visited 12 stations (Belgrano-II, Orcadas, Petrel, Esperanza, Marambio, Carlini, San Martin, Brown, Primavera, Camara, Frei and Deception Island), some of them several times.

The diesel-electric Vasily Golovin has worked in Antarctica since 2003. The ship has reportedly arrived at the Argentine port of Bahia Blanca to be supplied with bunker fuel.
