RF Transport Ministry: Development of transport infrastructure in Crimea is the absolute priority

Over mid-term period, the efforts of RF Transport Ministry will be focused on achieving the tasks set by the presidential orders and included into major activities of RF Government including the development of transport system in the Crimean Federal District. According to the Ministry’s statement, this was announced by Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov at the final extended meeting of the Ministry. He said the priority of the projects should be based on the maximum social and economic effect of their implementation. It is also necessary to ensure the transparency of project selection and the efficiency of the procedure applied for placement of state orders and introduction of technological and price audit. 

“The most important activity is the development of the Crimea’s transport infrastructure. The largest project is the construction of the transport passage over the Kerch Strait. The proposals in the project implementation should be prepared in the shortest time possible having analyzed all the possible ways. The development of port infrastructure, highways, railway and air transport infrastructure of the Crimea are the absolute priorities for the mid-term period,” Maksim Sokolov said.
