In January-March 2014, Odessa Commercial Sea Port (Ukraine) handled 6.4 mln t of cargo (+9.8%, year-on-year), the port authority says. Transshipment of dry cargo increased by 5.2%, liquid bulk cargo – by 27.3%.
In March, the port handled 2.32 mln t of cargo (+14.7%, year-on-year).
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2013, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port fell by 5.3%, year-on-year, to 23.1 mln tonnes.
