Hapag-Lloyd to launch new direct service between Vietnam and USWC in May

Hapag-Lloyd plans to launch new direct service effective May 2014 from Vietnam to North America West Coast. By adding a weekly direct port call in Vietnam to the West Coast service SE2, Hapag-Lloyd will be offering a premium product and faster direct connection between North America and the fast growing market, Vietnam, the Company said in a news release.

The first vessel calling Vietnam directly will be the MOL Majesty 025E19 departing Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on May 8, 2014 offering an enhanced transit time to and from the West Coast ports of Los Angeles and Oakland.

Weekly service calling the Saigon New Port Cai Mep/Tan Cang Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) located in the Ba Ria/Vung Tau province
 Drop-off and pick-up service of laden containers is available at the following Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Inland Container Depots (ICD) providing a barge shuttle service from/to Tan Cang Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT):

Barge service between Inland Container Depots and the TCIT, if required, will be handled as an on-/pre-carriage and must be indicated at time of booking.
