In January-September 2014, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 858,000 t of cargo (-14%, year-on-year), press center of the stevedoring company says.
Transshipment of general cargo fell by 11% to 324,000 t including 231,000 t of metal and pipes (-5%), 39,000 t of construction materials (-50%). Coal transshipment fell by 12% to 333,000 t.
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo fell 3 times to 58,000 t.
Transshipment of dry loose and bulk cargo increased by 4% to 476,000 t due to 2-fold increase of grain transshipment (to 120,000 t).
The company’s container throughput remains flat at 5,500 TEUs.
In January-September, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 131,000 t of import cargo, 714,000 t of export cargo and 13,00o to coastal trade cargo (83%, 15% and 2% respectively). All in all, 9,526 railcars and 247 vessels were handled at the berths of the company in the reported period.
Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is a key stevedoring company of the Taganrog port. In 2013, it handled 1.4 mln t of cargo. The major shareholder of Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is UCL Port, stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding which controls a number of stevedoring assets in the South and North West of Russia.
