Damen patrol vessel starts Volvo Ocean Race Cape Town
On Saturday, November 15th, Damen Shipyards Group proudly delivered the Volvo Ocean Race starting ship for the In-Port Race in Cape Town, South Africa, the company said in its press release.
The starting signal was given from a special location: the Damen FCS 5009 Patrol - a vessel built on stock by Damen Shipyards Cape Town.
On Wednesday, November 19th, the FSC 5009 Patrol will serve as 'starting line' once more, signaling the start of the 2nd leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, which will start off the seven ships on a 6.125 nm journey to Abu Dhabi.
