First cruise of new visa-free line held on the Black Sea

First cruise of the new Black Sea visa-free line which started in Sochi on December 25, 2014 has been wrapped up ahead of schedule. Cruise line operator Paradise Cruise&Ferry had to cancel the voyage of the Isabella 1 from Batumi (Georgia) to Sochi (Russia, Krasnodar Territory) due to the storm warning. The storm of force 8 made it impossible to moor at the port of Sochi.

Paradise Cruise&Ferry promptly provided all tourists who needed to return to Sochi with bus and air transfer.

Paradise Cruise&Ferry regrets to inform that the New Year cruise Sochi-Istanbul-Batumi scheduled for December 30, 2014 is cancelled due to the same reason. Regular cruises are supposed to be resumed from May 201, Igor Glukhov, Vise-President of ParadiseCruise&Ferry, explained.

Within the framework of the first cruise the tourists enjoyed intensive sightseeing in Sochi and Batumi. When staying in Batumi, they had a general city tour with a cable car ride and had an opportunity to go up to the mountains. In particular, the tour included the visit to St. Andrew the First-Called Church, the Makhuntseti Waterfall, the arched stone bridge of Queen Tamar and lots of other sights. In Sochi the tourists visited the Krasnaya Polyana to admire the facilities of the Olympics 2014.

The Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Krasnodar Region supports the initiative of the cruise organizers. The cruise programme initially includes the visits to Sochi (Russia), Istanbul (Turkey) and Batumi (Georgia). However, the initial schedule was adjusted because of the stormy weather and Istanbul was excluded from the first cruise.
