In January-December 2014, the port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 10.8 mln t (+4%, year-on-year), the port authority says. According to the statement, import climbed by 1% to 4.8 mln t, export – by 8% to 5.2 mln t. The port’s passenger turnover increased by about 2% to 10.9 mln persons. Tallinn is still the most popular destination (75% of passengers).
Over the year the port was visited by 260 international cruise ships with 420,000 passengers. All in all the port saw 8,000 calls.
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea.
