Volga Shipping Company opens cargo navigation on Niznaya Volga
On March 25, Volga Shipping Company opened cargo navigation of 2015 on the Niznaya Volga river, the company’s press center says.
Two Volgo-Don vessels and push towboat Professor Ryzhov (ОТ-2400 type) have passed the locks of Volga HEPP on their way to port Buzan (Astrakhan Region) to be lloaded with sulphur.
Up to 20 cargo vessels of Volga Shipping Company are to be deployed in March 2015.
Cargo navigation of 2015 on the Niznaya Volga river has been opened 6 days ahead of schedule amid favorable weather conditions.
Volga Shipping OJSC is one of the biggest transport companies in Russia. It was founded in 1843. The company transports cargoes along rivers and lakes of the country. In 2014, Volga Shipping carried 6.3 mln t of cargo.
