On 31 March 2015 the Deputy Minister of Industry & Trade of the Russia Federation Andrei Dutov officially introduced Vladimir Nikitin as Director General to the staff of the Krylov State Research Centre, the centre’s press center says.

Vladimir Nikitin was appointed Director General of the Krylov State Research Centre since 31 March by the Minister’s Order after winning the competition forthe positionas declared on26 March.

Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Vladimir SemenovichNikitinis wellknown in the shipbuilding industry. Foralongtime hewas in charge ofJSC Ship Repair Centre “Zvezdochka” and Research and Development Technological Bureau “Onega”based in Severodvinsk. The subjects of V.Nikitin’s PhD and Doctoral dissertations have addressed scientific, engineering and technological challenges in construction, repair and decommissioning of nuclear marine platforms.
