In January-March 2015, Port Vysotsky OJSC handled 1,103,273.709 t of coal (-8.9%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says. In March, Port Vysotsky handled 382,990 t (against 419,293.620 t in March 2014).
Port of Vysotsk is located in the Leningrad region. There are currently two stevedore companies operating at the port’s terminals: Port Vysotsky LLC and RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-II Ltd. In May 2012, the Russian government decided to expand the Vysotsk port with new territories including those occupied by the construction site of a new sea terminal for handling of general cargo (with the capacity of up to 3 mln t). In 2014 the company’s throughput increased by 7.4%, year-on-year, to 5.27 mln t.
Port Vysotsky LLC specializes in transshipment of Russian coal to the Western Europe. The port’s water area and the approach canal are 12.7 meters deep with the width of the canal totaling 200 metres.
