A hub for production and shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with annual capacity of 70 mln t can be created at port Sabetta, IAA PortNews journalist cites Yamal LNG Director General Yevgeny Kot, as saying at the 4th international conference Yamal Neftegaz arranged by Vostock Capital in Salekhard.
According to him, the resource potential is sufficient to produce up to 70 mln t of LNG near Sabetta.
As Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region, told journalists at the conference, port Sabetta will later be able to handle other types of cargo like the products of metal companies. This activity will be facilitated by a branch line of the Northern Latitudinal Railway, the project of which has been recently approved by RF Government.
The Yamal LNG project envisages the launch of three LNG trains with a total expected capacity of 16.5 million metric tons of LNG per year. They are to be launched in 2017, 2018 and 2019 accordingly. The second plant with the same capacity is to be built in the future.
